Group Discussion About Personal Item

We plan to include something in our story that is worn by the femme fatale's father that is recognised by the main character. He recognises it because it was previously worn by his own father and when he  sees someone else with it it raises his suspicions about how he got it. It's a fairly important part of the narrative so we wanted to make sure we chose the right item.

We decided to use dog tags as the item that the main character will recognise. They would be quite recognisable and open up a back story as to how the family first came about them. It suggests that at some point someone in their family has been in the army which has an affect on our main character and helps the audience to understand him better.

Possible Locations

As a group we discussed possible locations for shooting our film noir film. We looked at conventional locations and we also looked to subvert some of the conventional locations.

As most of our characters are about 18 years old and are still at school, it is likely that we will include a scene at a school because this is where the characters would spend a lot of their time. These pictures are of our own school that we could use in our film.

At some point in the film we wanted to include a scene where the femme fatale and the hero meet. We thought this pub would be a good location as it has an open fire and dim lighting. Both these are conventions of film noir.
